Guest Artists from Spain Alfonso Losa, Antonio Sanchez, and Ismael “el Bola” Come to San Francisco!
“ENCRUCIJADA” is a performance pushing each of the artists in the cast towards a camino or journey of their own inner boundaries at this time and place where their individual art is at a crossroads. The time in your life when you choose between SHOULD and MUST. Yaelisa has brought an eclectic cast together which includes the phenomenal award-winning dancer Alfonso Losa from Madrid, who made his explosive debut in the Bay Area in 2018 for one performance only at the SFIAF. Accompanying him are two artists making their Bay Area debut. Guitarist Antonio Sanchez is the nephew of the legendary Paco de Lucia, and heir to his incredible musical legacy, whom he toured the world with for several years before Paco’s death in 2015. Singer Ismael “El Bola,” is also a second-generation flamenco who hails from the dynasty of the Familia Fernandez, a family that has produced the great artists Esperanza Fernandez, Curro Fernandez, Jose Luis Fernandez and his own father, Ismael Fernandez.
